Hari Ketiga

Sesi bergambar bersama adik-adik Rumah NURI

  Assalamualaikum dan salam sejahtera. Nama saya Amir. Setiap yang bermula, pasti ada pengakhirannya. Begitu juga projek Jalinan Kemasyarakatan kami ini. Hari ini 25 Mac 2018 merupakan hari terakhir kami bersama adik-adik Rumah NURI. Cuma pada hari ini, aktiviti kami agak terhad disebabkan sebahagian bilangan adik-adik Rumah NURI terpaksa menghadiri program bersama badan organisasi luar. Walaupun kami lewat mendapat maklumbalas daripada pihak NURI akan hal ini, kami masih lagi bersikap profesional dan fleksibel dan mengambil tindakan dengan menambah sedikit aktiviti yang hanya memerlukan penglibatan adik-adik  Rumah NURI dengan jumlah yang sedikit seperti latihan persembahan dan persiapan Majlis Penutupan Projek Jalinan Kemasyarakatan Bioinformatics 17/18. Selain itu, keadaan bertambah cemas semasa majlis penutupan bermula kerana disebabkan cuaca yang tidak menentu(Hujan). Tetapi kami bersyukur kerana telah menyediakan persiapan terhadap masalah ini sekiranya ia berlaku. Sekali lagi ucapan terima kasih kepada Dr. Arpah kerana mengingatkan kami akan kejadian ini sebelum projek kami dijalankan.

 Jadi, majlis penutupan pun berlangsung di ruang hadapan di dalam Rumah NURI. Seterusnya, saya berasa sedikit terkejut akan kejutan yang diberi oleh rakan-rakan kelas saya yang mengadakan sambutan majlis hari jadi bagi para fasilitator dan adik-adik Rumah NURI yang lahir pada bulan Februari, Mac dan April. Saya berasa terharu akan sifat menghargai orang lain seperti yang ditunjukkan oleh rakan-rakan saya. Cuma pada akhir sekali, kami berasa sedikit terkilan kerana sebahagian adik-adik NURI yang menghadiri program luar tersebut hanya sempat bersama kami sewaktu di penghujung majlis penutupan itu berlaku. Setibanya waktu perpisahan berlaku, apa yang saya dapat lihat adalah reaksi antara para fasilitator dan adik-adik Rumah NURI yang sedang dalam keadaan sedih. Hal ini menjelaskan hubungan keakraban antara kami yang tercipta serta memberi kesan yang agak mendalam di dalam diri kami. Semoga hubungan yang terjalin ini dirahmati oleh Allah S.W.T. dan memberi nilai dan kesan positif untuk kami meneruskan kehidupan seperti biasa.

Hari Kedua

Para ahli kumpulan bertungkus-lumus menyiapkan aktiviti yang diberikan

   Assalamualaikum dan salam sejahtera. Hai! Nama saya Amir. Untuk hari kedua ni, aktiviti yang dilakukan adalah lebih kepada aktiviti-aktiviti luar seperti Zumba, Cowboy Shoot, Explorace, Riadah Santai. Hari itu juga kami turut sertakan slot pembelajaran yang menekankan subjek bahasa Inggeris dan bahasa Mandarin. Kerjasama yang diberikan oleh adik-adik rumah NURI sangat memberangsangkan dan  menaikkan lagi semangat kami untuk menjayakan projek ini.  Selain itu, kami juga mengadakan slot Motivasi Berkumpulan di mana sesi perkongsian permasalahan dan tips-tips belajar diantara para fasilitator dan anak-anak Rumah NURI. Semoga dengan adanya slot ini, sedikit sebanyak dapat menyelesaikan permasalah yang dihadapi oleh adik-adik Rumah NURI.

  Apa yang saya pelajari untuk hari kedua sepanjang kami berada di sini adalah di samping menuntut ilmu, kita juga perlulah melakukan aktiviti riadah seperti aktiviti yang diadakan dalam projek kami ini agar kesihatan diri kita terjamin. Hal ini menepati slogan gaya hidup sihat iaitu, Badan Sihat Otak Cerdas. Di samping itu, sekiranya kita memiliki masalah, kita boleh berkongsi masalah yang dihadapi bersama orang lain agar mereka sedikit sebanyak dapat membantu kita dalam menghadapi masalah tersebut seperti yang ditunjukkan dalam slot motivasi berkumpulan.Sekian, itu sahaja yang dapat saya kongsikan untuk hari kedua. Our Event Daysss ^^

Hey guys…it is me Sin Hui, after 3 days event, I am sure u all remember my name already right? Especially Ruben, our head of bureau programme and protocol, always call me yeo sin hahahah… actually yeo is my surname ok >< Through this event, I have also a new nickname that is SHY ( shortcut of my name, Sin Hui Yeo ). I think it is easier to be remember. Really have a lots of feelings and unforgettable memories I wish to share during this 3 days event…

Day 1
    All of us have to gather at Bioinformatic Building as not everyone of us stay at kk5 during the first day. Although I was tired have to wake up so early, I was more looking forward to visit the NURI home and the children there as we have prepared for so long since last semester and all of us have do a lot of effort in this event before that. Upon reaching there, I found that the situation is not the same with my imagine one. As there were just aound 20 children there, different with we were told the total number of children there will be 67 before. Although there were only a few number of children, it is also quite hard and have to spend some times to gather them together as they were enjoy playing among themselves.  After dividing them into group, we have also to start our activity.

    First and foremost, we have our ice-breaking session with children. This is important as this is the chance for us to break the bond with them and make all of us including the children know the name of each other. The children are still small so they are quite shy to introduce themselves. I was understand about that… But their face expression were really cute and make me feels like want to laugh. I just cannot control myself.  That is soooo cute especially a little fat boy in group 3.

After that, we have our gotong royong session there to help the children clean up the place they stay. After sweeping the floor inside the house, I help to wash the kitchen utensils. It was really a challenging task as the utensils there already put aside for a long time and most of the utensils rusted. It is very difficult for us to clean it thoroughly. However, we still try our best to wash it by using scrub. After completed the task, a sense of satisfaction come over me. Really hope that the children there have a more comfortable and tidy place to live.

    After having lunch, we have our indoor games session which is called “rainbow” and “sharks and islands, I think the first game is quite nice and excited as it is the great opportunity for us to get more familiar to the name of each other and required us to response fastly. The second game also need them to respond rapidly and have well develop limbs coordination. I can see that everyone of us including the children, ajk  and Dr. Arpah enjoy it so much. Feeling satisfied can see the smile face of the children.

    Soon it comes to the end of day 1, we have our post mortem session after going back to kk 5. We still got a lot of things have to improved. There were some event changes we do not know so most of our time are wasted for waiting each other to start first and make all of us feel boring too. Sometimes, the children were out of our control make the situation becomes chaos. Although we were tired, we still have to pay attention to listen to the comments as well as the suggestions and make some improvement for our event to make sure our event can run smoothly on second day.

Day 2

    A brand new day!!! Upon reaching there, I feel shocked when I see the children there welcome us warmly and friendly that is different from yesterday. Today, they are quite obedient and follow our instruction well. Feeling glad to see this situation as we finally managed to control them. We start our day with zumba session led by my hyperactive teammate, Shazrul. I found that he is really a talented PIC as he can led the  children well and the children is quite willing to listen his command and follow the steps of zumba. Every children enjoy dancing happily.

    After having breakfast, it is the art and design session. As a PIC incharged the activity, I have distribute the material needed to all fasi tetap to make sure that the activity can run punctually an smoothly. After giving the instruction and showing the sample to all of the children, the children start immediately to draw whatever things they like. I found that there are some children is really creative and talent in drawing as they can draw nicely and quickly. After that they can paste the craft paper thoroughly and produce a colourful picture although some of them are still small. This show that they were really patient and interested in art. This make me feel so grateful too. During the motivation session, as a fasi bantuan of group 1, every faci of each group have to share our own experience to the children. I can feel that children listen patiently to our advice and pay the full attention to what we share. The children also share their thoughts and feelings actively with us. I think this activity is very meaningful and had make us more understand about each other.

    Besides, I think the most interesting part is learning mandarin session as every children are curious about how to speak mandarin. So they more concentrate on this session. As a fasi bantuan, we also have to teach them how to speak properly and also how to write their own name in mandarin. It was really impressed me as they could pronounce the mandarin word correctly and understand the meaning of it. I can see their smile faces as they get the opportunity to write their name in mandarin. It was indeed a great satisfaction for me. Learning a new language is not that easy, but the children able to do it. Well done!!

    After lunch is the children long awaited activity—Explorace. As a photographer, I can see that the children in each group were trying their best cooperated well among themselves. They never give up to complete the task given by the PIC. This spirit was really impressed me so much. I can still remember we have a game with the children that is called “ bola beracun”. This activity really made me feel I was old already as I saw the children was full of energy and never feel tired when they keep evade the “ball”. I was lost this game at the beginning few round as I was really not that agile as the children.

    My only feeling on second day is the happiest time always pass so fast as that day is really a well-spent day.

Day 3

    Some of the PIC has started to prepare for the decoration of closing ceremony outside the NURI home…It was the last day of our event. Knowing that we have to leave the children after a few hours, it was really make me feel so sad as our bond getting stronger during this two days activity. What we can do is continued to enjoy the activity together with them. During the English language time, I found that some of them were quite clever and active by using the vocabulary I taught to making sentences. Some of them can also able to find the crossword rapidly. Good job!!

    During the origami session, every fasi taught the children how to fold frog, butterfly and  crane patiently and slowly so that they can follow all the steps. Feeling grateful when they were able to fold it by themselves. Awesome!!

    At around 12pm, most of the children have to go out to attend another event. So we can only conduct a few small activities with the children left in Nuri home. The unforgettable activities is the mystery box conducted by our bureau programme and protocol leader, Ruben. It was really funny as the children wish to try to put their hands inside the box to grab something but they were scared about is there got any insects or “cicak” inside at the same time when the facilitators keep yelling purposely to make them feel afraid of the “ things” inside the box.  We had also our cheers training and preparation of performance  for closing ceremony. Really appreciate the cooperation given by all the children.

    Unfortunately, it was rained heavily when we were about to start the ceremony. So sad because we have done the decoration of the tent outside of the Nuri Home. So we decided to make the closing ceremony inside the Nuri Home immediately as we have our plan B already. What we can do is just move the banner into the home. There was a surprise during this ceremony when the birthday cakes were prepared for the February, March and April babies. So warmthhhhhh.Every children were so happy to see the birthday cakes.

    It was really very hard to say goodbye. All of us were busy took photo with the children there. Before leaving, they also gave us a big big hug to us. I think I will never forget them and they will become part of my memories in my mind.

This time visit to Nuri Home really make me feel actually I am a lucky girl as I have both my parents even my grandfather and grandmother by my side and always support me. In contrast, the children in Nuri Home lack of the caring from their parents. I feel they are so pity especially when I listening to the dikir barat presented by them…This also inspires me to be responsible to take good care of children in future. Undeniable, the event really make the bond between our teammates getting closer and we knows more about each other. I would like to apologize to everybody for any mistake I had done. Thank you to everyone who helped me a lot throughout this event especially Dr.Arpah, Rehana, Ruben and Dr.Norpisah who allowed us to have our Social Engagement event at Nuri Home. Without u all, we could not run the event successfully. It is really a memorable event for me!!

 

Hari Pertama

Sesi perkenalan diri diantara para fasilitator dan anak-anak Rumah NURI

   Assalamualaikum dan salam sejahtera. Nama saya Amir. Akhirnya, hari yang dinantikan pun tiba iaitu pada 23 Mac 2018 dimana Projek Jalinan Kemasyarakatan Bioinformatics 17/18 bertempat di Rumah Jagaan NURI yang diadakan di Setapak, Kuala Lumpur. Pada pagi itu, kami bergerak dengan dipacu 3 biji kenderaan yang terdiri dari pada 2 biji van dan 1 kereta Hilux. Kami bertolak dari UM pada pukul  7 pagi dan perjalanan ke sana agak lancar.
   Setibanya di sana, kami terus menjalankan program mengikut aturcara yang telah ditetapkan. Mengikut perancangan, sepatutnya bilangan adik-adik Rumah NURI adalah seramai 67 orang tetapi yang menyertai program tersebut hanyalah seramai 25 orang. Mungkin sesetengah adik-adik NURI tidak dapat menyertai program kami disebabkan beberapa faktor tambahan lagi pada musim cuti sekolah. Tetapi hal ini tidak mematahkan semangat kami untuk  menjalankan program ini seperti biasa.Tambahan lagi, kami juga telah menyediakan perancangan sokongan(Backup Plan) sekiranya perkara sebegini berlaku. Terima kasih Dr. Arpah kerana telah mengingatkan kami tentang hal ini.

Aktiviti berkumpulan sedang dijalankan

   Semasa mengendalikan aktiviti pada hari itu, tingkahlaku adik-adik agak sukar dikawal oleh para fasilitator dan ini mungkin daripada kekurangan dari segi pengendalian dan komunikasi antara kami dan adik-adik Rumah NURI.  Sungguhpun demikian, aktiviti yang dirancang seperti gotong-royong, ice-breaking dan aktiviti-aktiviti berkumpulan berjalan dengan lancar. Untuk refleksi diri yang saya dapat pada hari pertama adalah kita janganlah berputus-asa sekiranya perancangan yang kita lakukan tidak berjalan seperti yang diingini dan teruskan sehingga mencapai objektif yang ingin dicapai. Selain itu, kita hendaklah menjalankan sesuatu perkara atau aktiviti dengan bersungguh-sungguh dan bukan seperti melakukan hanya sekadar melepaskan batuk di tangga atau dengan kata lain tidak melakukan pekerjaan dengan  bersungguh-sungguh. Itu sahaja yang dapat saya kongsikan untuk hari pertama. Sekian, terima kasih.

Second Day of Our Program👏👏👏

Hi, I am Hui Yuan. This time, I would like to talk about our program on day 2. On that Saturday, after we reached NURI, we started our program with Zumba.💃🕺💃🕺💃🕺All the facilitator and the kids enjoyed this morning exercise to keep us fresh and active whole day.

After having our breakfast, we were having our Chinese class from my friends, Ming Hui. She was going to teach the kids Chinese pronunciation, such as hungry (er), full (bao) happy (kai xin) and other words that express feelings. Then, we also teach the kids how to write their names in Chinese. I was going to give up but luckily I can use my smart phone's keyboard to find a suitable words for them.😥

Then, we were having art and design and some simple games after that. In art and design section, every kid had to draw anything on a given paper, then simply stick some small pieces colour paper on it creatively. As a faci of group 2, I saw some of my kids had a nice drawing but their decoration was erm..🤔. I have a picture from NURI kids, you may look from there🤣. The simple games such as "pass down a message by drawing and guess from it" and "guess what is he acting" let the kids be more interesting on our activities and closer the relationship between them and us😙.

The most interesting part is the explorace. We have five section. Our first part was that we have to let the ball drop out from the box, then we go to the second checkpoint, which is blow the ball in the cups of water until the endpoint. Our third checkpoint was build up a pyramid with strings and a rubber band. Next was eat the sweets with the straw and the last was a memory test from the Chinese class just now. All the checkpoints need different requirement. Some need your creativity, cooperation, memory, application and others. I think that the most interesting part is the first checkpoint. Every person had to jump or bounce or use other ways to let the ball drop out fro m the box. Everyone was feeling excited, happy and enjoy when playing this part. For the kids, i think that the checkpoint with sweets is the best😆They also talk about this in the reflection part, same thought as me.

Lastly, we also had some outdoor activities like futsal and bola beracun with the kids. A bond had formed in between all of us😶Before we went back to um, we enjoyed the dikir barat from the NURI kids. It is nice. They were going to perform next day at a hotel and everyone hope that they can come back on time for the closing ceremony tomorrow. That is all for today and I am going to talk about our last day program next time. Stay tuned🤗!

Our second day . Hopefully much better

2^nd day for event nie pon bermula. Tidur dah lah around 2 lebih then kena bangun pukul 5.30 pagi sebab nak siap2 kena kumpul pukul 6.45 pagi. Sememangnya mata sangat barai, ngantuk sangat sebab tk cukup tidur. Masa nie berdoa supaya hari kedua berjalan dengan lancar dan lebih better daripada 1^st day tu.

Tibanya aku kat rumah NURI, dah nampak budak2 semua tunggu dekat depan rumah. Ada yang tengah siram pokok. Hehe. First yang aku tegur nama dia Alif, tapi aku nie cam jahat sikit aku panggil dia Adudu sebab dia pakai baju boboiboy masa first day. 2^nd day pon dia pakai baju Boboiboy jugak tau. HAHA. Nama dia melekat Adudu sebab bila aku panggil Adudu dia pandang dan jawab soalan aku, tu yang melekat nama dia . HEHE. P/s jangan risau akak ingat nama betul dia sape.

2^nd day nie ada senaman pagi yang diketuai oleh Nazrul . Pandai pulak Nazrul nie menari, baru tahu. Masa nie nampak lah muka budak2 nie seronok sikit sebab ada senaman pagi. Kiranya macam pembuka hari sebelum program kitorang nie. Lepas dah habis senaman nie, ada makanan pagi. Then kitorang teruskan dengan program art& design. Masa nie ada competition, siapa yang lukis dan tampal paling lawa akan dapat bintang. So, aku jaga kumpulan 3 , aku nie suka dengki orang tau. Aku kacau lah sorang budak nie nama dia Danial. Dia tak pandai lukis, tapi nak lukis Pikachu, mula2 tu macam2 rupa jugak lah aku tgok . Last sekali boleh lah lawa dia lukis, boleh lah asalkan jadi Pikachu tu. Hah, yang Alif tu, kan aku panggil Adudu. Dia group 1 ,aku pergi lah nak tgok lukisan dia. Tahu tak dia lukis gambar apa ? Dia lukis gambar Adudu . Masa tu rasa macam, wahhh. Tak sangka, dah lah aku panggil dia Adudu sekali dia lukis gambar Adudu masa class art& design. Hehe. Yang jadi judge untuk competition nie adalah Dr Arpah so dapat lah budak2 nie bintang.      Habis je art & design aku pulak yang jadi PIC untuk game seterusnya. Game nie macam ala2 running man teka gambar tapi aku bagi dalam masa singkat je nak lukis , then yang depan sekali kena teka. Aku sangka kan flow game nie berjalan dengan lancar. Tapi tak sangka, Danial group yg aku jaga tu menangis sebab dia tak dpat teka gambar tu. Dia cakap dia tak jadi leader yang baik, but aku jadi rasa serba salah. Semua orang pujuk dia supaya jangan nangis. Masa tu jugak aku terkeluar ayat “menangis ke?” seriously, aku tak tahu ayat tu akan jadikan dia lebih menangis. Sebab bahasa aku mmang agak kasar. Tapi aku terpaksa teruskan jugak sebab nak handle kanak2 yang lain. Tapi sebelum aku nak teruskan game lain, aku kena pujuk dia sebab aku rasa bersalah sangat2. Terima kasih sangat2 pada Nazrul masa tu sebab tolong coverkan masa aku tgah pujuk Danial. Macam2 lah kata semangat yang aku try sampaikan kat dia. Thanks sangat2 Nazrul bantu aku untuk kawal budak2 yang lain. Rasa sebak jugak lah sebab tak sangka masa aku yang handle ada budak menangis. Untuk game seterusnya Danial tak join, dia masuk rumah masa tu. Mungkin try tenangkan diri sekali dengan aku lah yang rasa down jugak masa tu.

Around pukul 12.00 macam tu class mandarin. Masa tu aku tgok Danial dah mula join balik class tu. Masa tu rasa Alhamdulilah dia join balik. Tak nak lah kalau dia tak join kitorang punya program lagi kan . Aku jumpa dia ckap “sorry” sebab rasa macam salah aku. Sampaikan dia ckap “ Akak jangan marah, siap bagi love” . Memang masa nie aku dapat belajar, macam mana nak guna perkataan yang betul, jangan main hembus je.  Haish

Class mandarin nie aku tgok ,semua budak2 suka belajar bahasa mandarin sampai terbawak2 sampai ke akhir ckap “xie xie”. Lepas zohor, ada buat game explorace. Hah, masa nie yang budak2 ni suka sangat. Aku dgan solihin kena jaga checkpoint 2. Checkpoint 2 ni game dia kena keluarkan bola pingpong dalam kota tisu yang diikat di pinggang. Serious, macam2 gaya aku boleh tengok cara2 nak keluarkan bola pingpong. Serious banyak sangat aku gelak masa nie, ada yang menonggeng lah, ada yang siap angkat budak tu sama2 lah, ada yang terlompat, yang mcam wrestling pon ada sampai hancur kotak tisu tu dorang buat. HAHA. Punya lah creative dorang nie. Tapi mmang power lah dorang keluarkan bola ping pong tu. Terbaikk lah akak ucapkan pada dorang nie.

Then, kitorang sambung balik aktiviti lepas asar. Masa nie, kanak2 rumah NURI lagi2 yang lelaki daripada pagi kitorang sampai , ayat yang dorang selalu ckap “Akak , jom lah main bola dekat luar” . tu je lah ungkapan yang aku dengar daripada pagi. Hah, amek lah, main puas2 petang tu. Tapi kan fasi lelaki tak nak main bola sebab nya dengar cerita dorang nie kaki bangku. HAHA. So dorang nak join budak perempuan main bola beracun. HAHAHA. Nasib lah dorang, nak buat macam mana kena layankan jugak budak2 tu. Tak tahu lah macam mana dorang cakap, tetibe budak lelaki join kitorang main bola beracun. Serious lah mmang best masa nie, kitorang lawan antara kanak2 rumah NURI dengan fasi2. HAHAHA. Aku yang terakhir survive masa bola beracun tu. Seronok sangat lh masa nie, semua enjoy je main , dah tak fikir umur berapa masa tu, just fikir nak happy2 je. Bila lagi je kan nak happy macam nie, and main permainan macam ni lagi.

Then ada latihan persembahan, kan ada budak umur 16 tahun namanya Shakir. Masa 1^st day tu mmang dia macam nak tak nak je buat persembahan. Tapi bila 2^nd day je, haha. Dia dah boleh buat persembahan, and nampak lah dia dah mula enjoy dan dah tak segan macam 1^st day tu. Masa nie dah nampak lah semangat nak buat cheers tu. HAHA .Masa nie bonding kitorang semua dah mula kuat antara satu sama lain.

Dah habis semua aktiviti nie, malam tu kanak2 rumah NURI ada nak buat persembahan dikir barat. Hari ahad tu nnti dorang ada persembahan dekat hotel around pukul 12-1 katanya. Banyak kali jugak lah tanya dorang, “confirm kan ada masa closing ceremony”, yelah, sebabnya kitorang dah prepare persembahan untuk closing tu, kalau dorang tak de mmang tak menjadi lah.

So sebelum kitorang balik UM, kanak2 rumah NURI buat persembahan dikir barat. Kisah yang disampaikan dalam dikir barat adalah mengenai mereka semua, masa dngar tu mmang agak sedih jugak lah. Sebab nya kite tak tahu apa yang mereka rasa, apa yang mereka lalui dengan tiada mak ayah apa semua tu. Rasa macam nak nangis jugak lah. Masa nie belajar yang tak semua hidup berkeluarga, senang. So bersyukur lah sebab ada keluarga yang selalu ada disisi dan jangan sia-siakan mak ayah kite. Sebab ada lagi anak2 yang sangat perlukan mak ayah.

Tamat lah hari kedua di rumah NURI. Alhamdulilah 2^nd day mmang lebih terkawal daripada 1^st day, Kanak2 pon dah mula enjoy dan rapat dengan kitorang semua nie. YEAHHH.
Apa yang aku belajar masa second day ni adalah fasi semua dah berikan kerjasama yang baik untuk semua aktiviti. Fasi tolong antara satu sama lain . Kitorang pon dah kuatkan bonding antara budak2 nie, dah tak akward macam hari first tu. . Masa hari tu, slot motivasi memang banyak mengajar supaya kite luahkan apa yang kite rasa selama nie, berkaitan dengan akademik atau diri sendiri. Tak kesah lah lelaki or perempuan, menangis tu adalah salah satu cara untuk kite lepaskan kesedihan. Masa explorace, budak2 memang menunjukkan kerjasama yang sangat tinggi untuk menyelesaikannya tanpa bantuan kitorang.
